Proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) New Zealand
For the last five years, we have been proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities® New Zealand through donating Sealy beds to the houses nationwide, so families can sleep in comfort and support. As part of our ongoing relationship, we have delivered hundreds of beds to help provide a home-away-from-home feeling for families.
We have great admiration for the work RMHC® New Zealand does in supporting families throughout their child’s medical journey. RMHC New Zealand offers practical support to more than 4,300 families across the country each year; dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable space for families to relax, recover and recharge.
At Sealy NZ, we are privileged to be able to provide additional support to those families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses®. Over the last few years our team have made lunches for the families - planning the menu, sourcing the ingredients, preparing, then serving the nutritious meal. It is an honour to have the opportunity to provide some tangible support, engage with the families and give something back to the community.
Wayne Howett, RMHC® New Zealand CEO, has acknowledged that the new Sealy beds delivered each year help provide families with some much-welcome relief in a stressful situation.
“A good night’s sleep is key to helping families feel well rested, so they can best support their child throughout the medical treatment. Sealy’s ongoing generosity enables us to provide the best possible care to every family who stays with us. We are extremely grateful to them.”
With our recent delivery, Vodafone Warriors: Karl Lawton, Patrick Herbert, Sam Lisone and Jackson Frei lent a helping hand to set-up the Sealy beds. Vodafone Warriors Community Relations Manager, Petrece Kesha, expressed how proud the club is to support the charity and be able to make these families’ days just a little bit brighter.
“As a club we are invested in our community and doing our bit to support the most vulnerable. Anyone could end up needing the help of RMHC® New Zealand one day, and the love and care they provide for families with children in hospital is nothing short of incredible. The players thoroughly enjoyed being able to do their bit, not only to help out with delivering and making up the beds, but also in helping put a smile on the faces of families who are going through a really difficult time,” she said.
