In 2015 we were thrilled to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities to supply Sealy Posturepedic beds to support those families in need - we are proud to provide ongoing support for RMHC to ensure families sleep in comfort.
As part of our ongoing partnership, across August and September this year, we will deliver another 70 beds to help provide a home-away-from-home feeling for families when they need it the most.
We very much admire the work Ronald McDonald House Charities does in supporting families throughout their child’s medical journey. We want to support those New Zealand families in need and do what we can to help.
Ronald McDonald House Charities CEO Wayne Howett says "our houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child - not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head to rest at night. Thanks to our partnership with Sealy, our families have a safe, healthy and comfortable sleeping environment to recharge and recover, close to their hospitalised child".
Over 3,700 families stay at Ronald McDonald House’s each year and our involvement is designed to ensure these families have a restful night’s sleep, which is so important in the context of supporting their child.
We are also pleased be able to support RMHC by taking time to help out at the House, with activities such as making lunches for the families, it is great to have the opportunity to give something back to the community.
Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand (RMHC) creates and supports programmes which strengthen families throughout their children's medical journeys, ensuring they are better placed to cope and help their children heal. RMHC address the emotional, financial and practical burdens families with hospitalised children can face through the provision of free accommodation and wider support programmes. Ultimately helping families remain together and strong. Find out more about Ronald McDonald House Charities at rmhc.org.nz.
